Modernizing our infrastructure remains a priority of mine. Connecticut families and businesses deserve reliable roads, bridges, rail service, broadband, and public utilities that keep our economy moving. For too many residents, delays on Metro-North and Amtrak and heavy congestion on I-95 and the Merritt Parkway create daily frustrations and unnecessary costs. As a member of the bipartisan Build America Caucus, I remain committed to ensuring our infrastructure works for everyone and meets the demands of a modern economy.

In 2022, I was proud to help pass the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which is delivering historic federal investments to repair, rebuild, and modernize infrastructure across the country. The law included $550 billion in new funding for roads, bridges, rail, broadband, clean water systems, and climate resilience projects. Here in Connecticut, these investments are already supporting hundreds of transportation, climate, and broadband projects that will strengthen our communities, improve public safety, and expand economic opportunity.

Investing in infrastructure is building for the future. These projects are supporting long-term economic growth and helping ensure Connecticut remains competitive for generations to come. Our grandparents came together to bind our nation with an unparalleled interstate highway system. It is our turn to imagine and build the 21st-century equivalent.
