Himes Announces Three Nonprofit Arts Organizations will Receive $40,000 from The National Endowment for the Arts
Today, Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04) announced that the National Endowment for the Arts will award $40,000 to three Southwest Connecticut nonprofit arts organizations. Games for Change will receive $20,000, Silvermine Arts Center will receive $10,000, and INTEMPO Organization will receive $10,000 in federal funding to support the organizations' arts participation and programming.

Himes Secures $1 Million for HCC Advanced Manufacturing
Today, Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04) announced $1 million in funding from the Department of Education for Housatonic Community College (HCC). Congressman Himes joined Housatonic Community College CEO Dr. Dwayne Smith, Connecticut State Colleges and Universities President Terrence Cheng, and Connecticut’s Chief Manufacturing Officer Paul Lavoie. The funding will be used to expand HCC’s Advanced Manufacturing training program in the Greater Bridgeport and Lower Naugatuck Valley regions.

Huge Wins for Fourth District in Government Funding Bill
Last night, Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04) voted to pass the appropriations package to fund the federal government for Fiscal Year 2022. The bill is a result of compromise with the Senate and will be signed into law by President Biden later this week. In a victory for Southwest Connecticut, the bill contains close to $12.4 million for ten projects championed by Himes in Connecticut’s Fourth Congressional District.
