BRIDGEPORT, CT – The City of Bridgeport will hire 20 additional police officers as a result of a grant from the Recovery Act, Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4), Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch, and Police Chief Joe Gaudett announced today. The Bridgeport Police Department is now recruiting to fill these 20 open positions.

WESTPORT, CT - Congressman Himes (CT-4) joined first responders at the Westport Fire Department today to discuss emergency preparedness and highlight how a new emergency generator will better equip them to respond to disasters. The funding will allow the purchase of a new generator that will supply standby power for the town’s emergency headquarters complex.
