Slides from an informational Zoom presentation hosted by members of Congressman Himes’ staff regarding the Community Project Funding application process for Fiscal Year 2027 can be found here.
To meet the needs of communities across the United States, the Appropriations Committee will again be accepting Community Project Funding requests from Members of Congress for the Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) appropriations package. This is in addition to the standard programmatic and language-based requests. Each Member of Congress is limited to no more than 20 CPF requests across all subcommittees for FY27 and there is no guarantee that all requested projects will be funded. The FY27 CPF process has a limited scope with eligible accounts restricted to those listed below. The Committee will limit Community Project Funding to no more than .5% percent of discretionary spending. Please note that Congressman Himes’ office will put a very high premium on shovel-ready projects and a demonstrated ability to rapidly deploy funds when considering which applications to support.
Please note:
- All projects must meet the relevant statutory and administrative criteria for funding through the grant program under which they are submitted.
- A request submitted to Congressman Himes does NOT guarantee the project will be selected.
- The selection of a project does NOT guarantee it will be funded by the Appropriations Committee.
- Please submit your project requests to Congressman Himes for the Fiscal Year 2027 process by March 6th, 2026, at 5:00pm EST. If there are extenuating circumstances and the full application cannot be submitted on time, please contact our office and we may be able to offer a short-term extension.
