Accessing Funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

The bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will help bring American roads, rail, and bridges into the 21st Century and beyond. The bill includes landmark investment in public transportation, including Amtrak and regional rail, and makes repairs to bridges and highways that are necessary for us to remain competitive in the global economy. In addition, it will bring safe water, reliable broadband internet, electric vehicle infrastructure, updated ports and waterways, and much more to millions of Americans.

I've created this resource to detail the programs in this historic bill and give Connecticut communities a leg up on the competition. Funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will primarily be delivered through formula-based funding and competitive funding opportunities

Formula-Based Funding is apportioned to the states by formula, and implementation is left primarily to state agencies.

Discretionary Funding is awarded on a competitive basis through an application process specified by the federal agency making the grant. Each program's selection criteria is outlined in the grant solicitation. Municipalities and organizations may request a letter of support from my office by completing this form.
