Rules:
- Photos must be within Connecticut’s 4th congressional district. Learn more about the 4th Congressional district here.
- Entrants must be residents of Connecticut’s 4th congressional district. If you’re not sure if you’re a resident of my district, please click here to find out.
- You must be the author of the photo(s) and it cannot be copyrighted, or have a pending copyright application by another author without permission.
- Higher-quality photos are strongly preferred. A minimum 300dpi resolution, at least 1000 pixels square is required.
- Staff and Congressman Himes will choose photos to highlight on our Facebook and Instagram.
- You may request to have your photos withdrawn from the contest, and my office as well reserves the right to not post your photos.
- Violations of these rules may lead to disqualification.
How to enter:
If you’d like to enter the Social Media photo contest, please fill out this google form. Your photo(s) in a standard image format (i.e., JPG, PNG);
- Please include information on where your photo was taken
- All entries are due no later than Friday, September 3rd, at 11:59 PM EST.
By submitting this form I hereby authorize U.S. Representative James Himes (the “Member”), to use for any purpose relating to the official duties of the Member the photograph I have submitted to his District Photo Contest (“Photograph”). I further authorize the use of my name in conjunction with the Member’s use of the Photograph. I waive any right I may have to inspect or approve the use of the Photograph by the Member. I understand that the Member may use my Photograph, in whole or in part, in media or other technologies for worldwide distribution, and I grant my authorization for such use. I also understand that the Member is under no obligation to use my Photograph for any purpose, and that I shall receive no compensation for the use of my Photograph by the Member.
By submitting this form I hereby release and hold harmless the Member, the U.S. House of Representatives, their employees and agents, and the United States from any and all liability for any and all claims arising out of or relating to the use of my Photograph by the Member.
Next steps:
All photo entries are due no later than Friday, September 3rd, at 11:59 PM EST. My staff and I will then select contest finalist. The contest finalist will be posted on my Facebook page on Monday, September 13th. The photo with the most Facebook likes will be the contest winner.
