WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) released a video today supporting students of Bridgeport’s Bassick High School in their effort to win Under Armour’s “Finding Undeniable” challenge. The winning team will receive $140,000 for team uniforms, apparel, and accessories.
“I know the students of Bassick, I’ve spent some time there, and I know they are definitely undeniable,” said Himes in the video, wishing the school’s 13 varsity teams good luck in the challenge.
As part of the challenge, high school teams from across the country compete by completing challenges demonstrating athletic ability and pride, and by gaining supporters, who can also compete in challenges. Points are awarded based on the difficulty of the challenge. Himes’ video, which fulfills a “government assistance” challenge, will give the team 3,250 points.
As of Thursday, November 15, Bassick was ranked in fifth place with 178,570 points. The first round of competition ends on November 20, after which eight teams – the top four point-getters as well as four “wild card picks” – will compete for the final prize.
