WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) has released a Public Service Announcement reminding constituents of the upcoming November 3 deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene. The PSA is available in both English and Spanish. Broadcast-quality copies for radio and television are available upon request.
“As we continue to recover from a disaster that left many Connecticut residents with damaged or destroyed property, it is essential that we all do everything we can to make sure everyone is aware of the assistance available to them,” said Himes. “I strongly encourage anyone with Irene-related damages to apply for this assistance.”
In the PSA, Himes warns constituents of the fast-approaching deadline and urges anyone who experienced uninsured losses to apply for help. Information on the kinds of assistance available and how to apply can be found here. The script of the PSA follows this release.
