WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) released the following statement today on the passing of Maurice Sendak, Ridgefield resident and author of Where the Wild Things Are and many other children's books:
“I send my condolences to the family and friends of Maurice Sendak, a man who inspired children to believe in the extraordinary and expand their minds and imaginations. Mr. Sendak’s books, with their fantastical stories and beautiful illustrations, captured the hearts of millions of youngsters, encouraging them to read and learn. Though he may no longer be with us, I hope the rumpus never ends.”
