Westport, CT  – Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) issued the following statement after visiting three locally-owned small businesses in Westport this afternoon. He met with owners and shop-goers at Saugatuck Sweets, Saugatuck Craft Butchery and DownUnder during the 52nd annual National Small Business Week.

“Our small businesses are creating two out of every three net jobs in this country. Places like Saugatuck Sweets, Craft Butchery and DownUnder are growing our economy while supporting the communities they operate in. In Connecticut, especially, they help give our cities and towns the tight-knit feel we cherish. I thank them for having me today to visit and thank and support all of our hard-working small business owners and employees.”
