If you have suffered damage to your home, furniture, or business or experienced other significant financial loss as a result of Tropical Storm Irene, you may be eligible for financial assistance from the federal government. The deadline to apply for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency or Small Business Administration is November 3. The deadline for nonprofits is October 3.
I will be holding two public information meetings this week with representatives from FEMA and the SBA to share information about the assistance available and to help constituents apply. Anybody who is interested in applying for aid or who has questions about doing so is encouraged to attend.
