An article released by the Associated Press this evening announced that seniors in who are in the Medicare prescription drug “donut hole” will receive their checks sooner than expected.

“Helping seniors manage out-of-control prescription costs was one of the biggest accomplishments of health care reform,” said Rep. Jim Himes (CT-4). “These checks could cover a few months of drug costs for some seniors. In combination with the 50 percent discount on brand name drugs, seniors should feel some badly needed relief.”
