Norwalk, CT – Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) issued the following statement regarding the opening of the Norwalk Community Health Center’s expanded clinic. The project was largely funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Three Recovery Act grants totaling $1.65 million will allow NCHC to serve an additional 6,000 patients over the next five years.

“The opening of this facility is a win-win for Norwalk and the surrounding communities. In these tough economic times, more and more people—most who are without health insurance or who have lost a job—are turning to local clinics to get the care they need. With this clinic expansion, the Recovery Act is creating jobs and helping build a healthier community.”
