WASHINGTON, DC— Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) has released a Public Service Announcement reminding constituents of the upcoming December 31 deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. The PSA is available here.
“As we continue to recover from one of the worst storms in Connecticut’s history, I want to do all that I can to make sure my constituents are aware of the assistance available to them,” said Himes. “I strongly encourage anyone with Sandy-related damages to apply for this assistance.”
In the PSA, Himes warns constituents of the fast-approaching deadline and urges anyone who experienced uninsured losses to apply for help. Information on the kinds of assistance available and how to apply can be found here. The script of the PSA follows this release.
