WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) and Norwalk Mayor Richard Moccia will hold a press conference with domestic violence prevention advocates on Monday in Norwalk to speak out against the House version of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) reauthorization and call for action on the Senate’s version of the bill. The reauthorization of VAWA House Republicans passed this week repeals or weakens critical protections that keep survivors of domestic and sexual violence safe. The Senate passed a bill to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act that preserves and expands those protections.
