Himes Sworn into Third Term

WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) took the oath of office today to serve his third term representing Connecticut’s Fourth Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. He called for pragmatic leadership and promised to continue working diligently to address the nation’s greatest challenges.

“As the curtain rises on the 113th Congress, my awe at the peaceful transition of democratic power is accompanied by fervent hope that this Congress will work to restore the comity and pragmatism that allows us to govern this great and diverse nation.

“The problems we face are significant. Our nation can and must lead in innovation, economic growth, justice and as the exemplar of democratic government. We always have.
