“I am saddened to hear of the passing of Senator Joe Lieberman— a tireless fighter for the state of Connecticut and a champion of environmental policy. While we did not always agree, I have endless respect for the way in which he forged his own path through public service, engaging across the aisle and breaking barriers as the first Jewish vice-presidential nominee for a major party. Mary and I extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Hadassah, and their entire family in this difficult moment.”
