NORWALK, CT—Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) visited Norwalk Community Health Center today to celebrate National Health Center Week, an annual week of awareness and support for Community Health Centers. The Community Health Centers network is made up of more than 1,300 organizations with 9,000 locations nationwide that provide primary and preventive care services to Americans in medically underserved and low-income areas.
"I am pleased to join Norwalk Community Health Center in celebrating National Health Center Week,” Himes said. “Our nation’s Community Health Centers serve more than 21 million patients nationwide, including over 300,000 patients last year here in Connecticut. These centers provide vital services that allow patients and the health care system as a whole to save money on health care costs, and they help reduce ethnic and racial disparities in care. I thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Norwalk Community Health Center and other health centers in Connecticut for their outstanding work to provide quality, affordable care for the people of our communities.”
