In October, President Biden approved Governor Lamont’s request to declare a major disaster for the State of Connecticut and several counties due to damage caused by Hurricane Ida. Fairfield County residents with uninsured losses from Hurricane Ida may be eligible to get certain expenses covered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

My office has compiled a Disaster Resource and Recovery Guide. I hope you’ll find this guide helpful to answer your questions about the resources that may be available if you were affected by Hurricane Ida.

FEMA opened two Disaster Recovery Centers in Bridgeport and Greenwich. These centers are available to help Fairfield County residents affected by Hurricane Ida. Bridgeport location hours:

• Monday and Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Wednesday and Thursday: Noon to 6 p.m.
• Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
