“President Obama’s speech tonight is the culmination of an intense and lengthy process that has drawn upon America’s most expert military, diplomatic, and national security advisors. On this most serious of topics, I intend to do my own due diligence by consulting experts and my constituents. Before I support any new commitment of American lives or taxpayer dollars, I will closely review the President’s plan and ask the hard questions my constituents want answered.”
