The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced a $299,075 environmental workforce development and job training grant to The WorkPlace, Inc. in Bridgeport. This grant will help The WorkPlace train 51 students, place 43 graduates in environmental jobs, and track the graduates for two years.
The training program will consist of a three-week, 126-hour core training, including courses in storage tank leak prevention and innovative treatment technologies, and additional training courses in such fields as environmental remediation and solid waste management.
The WorkPlace provides job training and preparation to Bridgeport residents who are unemployed, low-income, dislocated, or otherwise in-need.
