The University of Bridgeport Fones School of Dental Hygiene has received a $645,000 grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students program. These grants help schools provide scholarships for full-time, financially needy students from disadvantaged backgrounds enrolled in health professions and nursing programs.
Every student deserves the chance at a good education that will prepare them for a solid job, and the medical field is one of our fastest growing industries. Ensuring an affordable, quality education for every student regardless of his or her family’s financial background has been a priority of mine in Congress, and I look forward to working with the University of Bridgeport to make sure this money goes to training the next generation of dental hygienists.
