"Donald Trump wants to run this country like a dictator— wielding the Department of Justice as a retributive cudgel against anyone who disagrees with him. His attempt to compromise the independence of the Federal Reserve is a grotesque overreach of authority that will only serve to harm American consumers. Anyone who has worked with Jerome Powell knows that he is a man of integrity who leads with a nonpartisan commitment to the public interest. He should be applauded for refusal to kowtow to this obvious corruption."
