WASHINGTON, DC—Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) release the following statement regarding yesterday’s passage of an omnibus spending bill for Fiscal Year 2014, which will fund all government operations through September 30, 2014:
“Though not the budget plan I would have written, today’s passage of a broad, bipartisan bill to fund the government for the remainder of the fiscal year represents a step toward serious governance and better prioritization of limited resources, particularly increases in early education to enhance America’s competitiveness. I look forward to continued progress as debate begins shortly on next year’s budget, and will advocate for full funding of the critical agencies protecting consumers through the implementation of the Wall Street Reform Act.”
