No Labels is unveiling 24 members of Congress who have committed to meeting regularly to build trust across the aisle at its Meeting to Make America Work! today at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. The grassroots movement will also unveil Senator Joe Manchin and Governor Jon Huntsman as its honorary co-chairs in front of 1,300 citizen leaders from across the country.
“The simple fact is that right now, there are businesses not hiring, workers not working and investors not investing as a direct result of the gridlock in Washington,” Governor Jon Huntsman says. “Hearing that and knowing that should light a fire under everybody in Washington. But it hasn’t yet. So No Labels has to light that fire.”
“Our group is made up of Republicans, Democrats, independents and everything in between,” Senator Joe Manchin says. “Our country needs all of us – and we are bringing a new attitude of problem solving to Washington. That’s the only realistic way forward for America because right now, the system isn’t working. I am proud to call myself an honorary co-chair of this No Labels movement.”
