This week, the House will consider 11 bills, ranging from energy to transportation.

Legislation under consideration this week includes:

H.R. 4027: authorizes and acre-for-acre exchange of subsurface mineral lands between the State of Utah and the Ute Tribe.

H.R. 1272: directs the Department of the Interior to reimburse the Minnesota Chippewa tribe for $29 million for lands ceded to the United States under the Nelson Act of 1889.

H.R. 1556: allows the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico, which operates the Sange Fe Indian School, to use its property held in trust by the federal government for economic development projects to fund educational, health or cultural activities.

S. 684: conveys approximately two acres of land to the town of Alta, Utah, to be used for public purposes.

S. 404: amends the land patent issued to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society regarding Whitefish Point in Chippewa County, Michigan, to allow the society to put a human use and natural resource plan for whitefish Point into action.

S. 997: extends an existing water contract between the East Bench Irrigation District in Montana and the Bureau of Reclamation for four years.

H.R. 2938: prohibits the building of a casino and other gaming activities on the Gila Bend Indian Reservation Lands in Arizona.

H.Res. 683: expresses regret for the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, which barred Chinese from becoming U.S. citizens and halted immigration for 10 years, and other legislation that negatively affected Chinese living in the United States.

H.R. 3668: establishes federal criminal penalties of a fine, imprisonment of not more than 20 years or both for intentional trafficking in counterfeit drugs.

H.R. 2578: modifies numerous federal lands and water laws to address border protections and local economic concerns. This includes waiving environmental laws to allow the Department of Homeland Security to construct roads and facilities; authorizing the hunting of sealions in the Pacific Northwest to protect endangered fish; and allowing for the expansion of hydropower projects and for the conveyance of federal lands to local authorities for economic development.

H.R. 4480: delays the implementation of certain EPA regulations and creates an interagency committee to review the impact of EPA rules on energy prices. Also increases the amount of federal land available for energy production and streamlines the process for approving drilling permits.
