WASHINGTON, DC –Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) Thursday met with students from across the Fourth District whom he successfully nominated to attend one of the U.S. military service academies this fall. The students and their families joined Congressman Himes for dinner at the Westport VFW and had the chance to network with their peers and local veterans.

“I am proud to nominate my district’s best and brightest young men and women to our nation’s service academies each year,” said Himes. “I hosted this dinner to honor their accomplishment and thank them for their commitment to serve our country.”
The 12 students below have been accepted into Naval Academy, West Point, Air Force Academy, or Merchant Marine Academy. Himes selected nominees based on the recommendations of his Academy Nomination Panel which is comprised of former academy graduates, community leaders, and former and current members of the U.S. Armed Services.
