In response to concerns over disrupting previously scheduled events at City Hall and in the interest of gathering input from as many constituents as possible, Congressman Jim Himes will move his town hall meeting on health care reform, scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, to the Norwalk High School Auditorium. Interest in the event has significantly increased over the past week, and Norwalk Mayor Richard Moccia and the Congressman agreed it would be prudent to secure another venue.

“I’m pleased to have so many constituents eager to share their opinions on health care reform, and I look forward to the opportunity to gather input from the larger group the new venue will facilitate,” said Congressman Himes. “Mayor Moccia suggested the move away from city hall and graciously worked with the school to provide the auditorium.”

“Concerns over disrupting previously scheduled events at City Hall as well as safety and parking concerns made it necessary to ask the Congressman to move his health care forum,” said Mayor Moccia. “The Congressman has been flexible and understanding of our concerns.”

The Greenwich and Bridgeport health care forums will move forward as planned.
