CONGRESSMAN JIM HIMES

Representing the 4th District of Connecticut

Student Advisory Council

Join Congressman Himes to create and help enact solutions to our gun violence epidemic!

A few short weeks ago, thousands of marchers stood in Stamford heartbroken about the shooting at Parkland High School and the continued toll of gun violence in communities across our state and nation.

The energy and passion that these young people brought that day, and have continued to bring here in Connecticut and Washington, DC inspires me. I believe that young people can, and must, provide the path forward. This means both continuing the energy and working toward positive policy solutions to make our schools, homes and public spaces safer from guns.

That’s why I am calling on high school students across our district to join my newly created Students’ Advisory Council to help develop and implement policy.

I hope you will join me on this journey. It’s your future. We need your voice. - Jim
